Why Bright Eyes Exists

Bright Eyes was created from a simple belief: kids deserve a place that is truly made for them.

We wanted to create more than a pediatric eye clinic. We wanted a space where children could feel at home, where their personalities and individual needs are welcomed, and where families feel like they have time to ask questions, learn, and be involved in their child’s care.

Every detail—from our kid-focused optical to our sensory-friendly spaces—was intentionally designed with children in mind. It’s a place where they can explore, be themselves, build confidence, and grow.

Bright Eyes exists because we believe caring for kids is more than what we do. It’s why we’re here.

Our Approach 

We believe caring for a child’s vision starts with seeing the whole child. We look at vision through the lens of development and function, going beyond 20/20 when appropriate to understand how the visual system is working and how it may be affecting a child’s everyday life.

Every child is different, so our exams and treatment plans are individualized to meet their needs—including sensory-friendly care when a child needs extra time, flexibility, or a different approach. We value lifelong learning and continually seek to deepen our understanding of evolving clinical concepts, because the more we learn, the better we can understand and support each child.

Most importantly, we believe families deserve to understand their options. Rather than simply telling parents what we think they should do, we take the time to explain what we’re seeing, why it matters, and what choices are available so they can make informed decisions for their child.

Designed for Kids

Bright Eyes was designed with kids in mind—and, along the way, my own children even got to have a hand in making some of the decisions. We wanted this to feel different from a typical eye clinic: a place where kids can move, explore, have fun, and feel comfortable being themselves.

Our optical is entirely dedicated to children and young adults, with roughly 300 frames to choose from. Instead of a single board in a child’s size, they can actually explore a variety of styles and find something that feels like them. Our sensory suite gives children who need a little extra time, attention, or a different approach the space they deserve.

Every part of Bright Eyes was designed to make eye care feel less like something children have to endure and more like somewhere they actually want to be. We want them to have so much fun that they barely realize they’re getting their eyes tested—and, most importantly, we want them to be excited to come back.
